THE NEW DEL VALLE LIBRARY
The Elroy Community Library opened in 1983 and the building was completed in 1988. As the area population grew, the Library Board realized a dream of forming the East Travis Gateway Library District in 2006. To better serve the Del Valle community, the Garfield Community Library opened in June 2010. The two existing buildings have served the Del Valle community well but as the area rapidly grows, the community will need a significantly larger library to adequately serve their needs. This new building will build on the legacy created by Sara Hilgers and the many who have served alongside her throughout the history of the East Travis Gateway Library District.
